Slatmill Treadmills

How does it work?

A slat mill is not your average treadmill. It is a non motorized treadmill that is ONLY powered by the dog's natural movement. It is a free spinning track that is made of composite plastic treads that has an anti skid surface for safety. Every dog has full control over their own pace and can stop any time.

FAQS

Does my dog need to wear a harness?

Yes! All dogs will be properly sized for a harness at their initial slatmill training session. Harnesses are required to make sure your dog stays in the proper position on the slatmill while also allowing them to run at their desired speed. We use Howling Dog Alaska's distance harness. These padded harnesses are designed to not restrict the natural movement of the dogs gait and reduces hip joint pressure.

Will there be other dog's present at my appointment?

Nope! Your scheduled time is for you and your dog only. If any one arrives early to their appointment we kindly ask they remain in their vehicle till you and your dog have exited.

My dog has never used a slatmill before. Will there be a trainer present?

Do you require vaccinations?

Absolutely! A trainer will always be present during your sessions for safety and any questions.

Yes, we require Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella vaccines.
